Project Reflection
The
online archive project was a great learning experience and great way of ending
the course. I was really engaged in my own topic, fully realizing the
perceptions of my future. The whole
project went smoothly, my expert research group project, turned out to be
great. If I were to change it, I would definitely re-edit a lot, adding more
interviews of people, and maybe even clips from TV, like discussion about
minimum wage on HBO news. But in the end, the documentary project was a great
learning experience.
1. What did you learn, relearn or unlearn about the process of researching during this "year-long" project? Be Specific.
- I thoroughly learned that not taking advantage of your time will take a toll on you in the future. Researching a so called "year-long" project should be done every now and then, hence the name.
2. Given another chance at a similar project, would you choose your topic again and continue to pursue it further, or would you change it? Why or why not? Explain.
- Preferably, i would pursue this project in the future if i had to. I already have so much logic on this topic, that performing even a similar project on this topic would be much easier.
3. What did you learn from this research undertaking regarding what makes for a "viable" research topic?
- A viable research topic must have much conversation about the topic itself. I realized that you can't possibly do a research project on a topic that has nothing to talk about.
4. What did you learn, relearn or unlearn about the process of writing when it based on research?
- I learned that all claims that you make in your writing paper, should be backed up with valid sources to help clarify. I also relearned that your topic needs to have conversations in order to actually write a large research paper on it.
5. Besides the content/information, what did you take away from creating a documentary project? Your own group process? Viewing other documentaries?
- From my own research, and the concept of everyone else documentaries, my awareness of world time events have actually slightly rose. I actually realize the many things happening around the world, good and bad.
6. Do you feel you could have made adjustments to your own documentary to strengthen it? If yes, what would you have done? What could have been clearer? Be specific. Explain.
- For my documentary, i noticed that my group project lacked actual interviews. I realized that getting views from my generation, based on a topic we face today, would help strengthen and clarify the topic's understanding.
7. Overall, explain what do you think was/were the purposes of this extended Expert Project?
- As a class, i believe the purpose of each of the expert projects, was to bring awareness to each other of this library of topics going around the world.
